We are seeking a hands-on Testing & Commissioning Engineer for elevators who will also act as the site quality-control lead for vertical transportation. The role covers witnessing and executing lift tests, closing installation and finishing defects, and driving systems to consultant, client, and authority handover without leftover snags.
You will work across passenger, service, firemen, and goods lifts from installation close-out through final commissioning, Civil Defence / municipality inspections, and defects-liability support. This is a site-facing role: you own the snag list until every item is closed, retested, and signed off.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Competitive tax-free salary, plus housing and transport allowance or equivalent package.
- Annual air ticket, medical insurance, and end-of-service benefits in line with UAE labour law.
- Site-based role with clear ownership of elevator T&C and quality close-out.
- Opportunity to work on major vertical-transport packages through to handover.
REPORTING TO: T&C Manager / Project Manager
DEPARTMENT: MEP / Vertical Transport
HOW TO APPLY
Send your CV and a short cover note to randa@liftmart.co. In your cover note, state:
- Years of elevator T&C experience and typical building heights / lift counts handled.
- OEMs and authorities you have worked with.
- Current visa / notice period, expected package, and confirmation of a valid UAE or GCC driving licence.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applications are treated in confidence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES — TESTING & COMMISSIONING
- Plan, execute, and witness testing and commissioning of elevator systems in line with approved method statements, ITPs, manufacturer procedures, and project specifications.
- Carry out and record no-load, contract-load, and overload tests; safety-gear, buffer, overspeed-governor, door, levelling, and emergency-power tests.
- Verify shaft, pit, overhead, machine-room / MRL, and landing interfaces against approved shop drawings and manufacturer requirements before testing starts.
- Coordinate T&C activities with the elevator OEM / installer, main contractor, MEP, structural, façade, fit-out, and BMS / fire-alarm teams.
- Prepare and maintain T&C documentation: inspection requests, test sheets, checklists, calibration records, punch lists, as-built mark-ups, O&M manuals, and spare-parts lists.
- Support consultant, client, third-party, Civil Defence, and municipality inspections; close comments and obtain approvals for handover.
- Confirm interfaces with fire-alarm, emergency lighting, generator / ATS, BMS, access control, and CCTV operate correctly under normal and emergency conditions.
- Track commissioning status by lift and by building; report progress, blockers, and readiness for PAC / FAC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES — QUALITY CONTROL & SNAGGING
- Act as the quality-control focal point for elevators: inspect installation quality during and after erection, not only at final test.
- Raise, log, and close snags covering shaft alignment, guide-rail plumbing, car and landing finishes, door operation, ride quality, noise and vibration, lighting, signage, and architectural interfaces.
- Issue structured snag / punch lists with location, photo, priority, responsible party, and target close-out date; chase until verified closed.
- Reject incomplete or non-conforming work and stop testing where safety or specification compliance is at risk.
- Inspect car interiors, landing doors, frames, architraves, sills, indicators, and lobby finishes against approved samples and IFC drawings.
- Verify corrective works on site and re-test affected functions before removing items from the snag register.
- Maintain a live snag tracker and present status in weekly coordination and quality meetings.
- Support defects-liability inspections and close outstanding elevator snags after handover.
